Tremendous Opportunities in Economic Stress

With the United States and Canada being officially declared a world region for the Church of the Nazarene, the door is now wide open for World Mission Broadcast to expand broadcast efforts, on your behalf, into this fertile mission field.

Plans for radio, television and podcasting targeted to the unchurched of North America are already underway. Resources and plans are in place for the use of broadcast to reach Hispanic and Arabic ethnic groups now living in the U.S.A. and Canada, offering a message of hope and salvation.

You have been so faithful! And yet, we are faced with a tremendous opportunity at a time of financial stress that threatens the viability of this ministry. What a challenge! What an opportunity to trust God to do something for us that we cannot do for ourselves.

In my 40 years of being associated with the ministries of World Mission Broadcast, never have the opportunities been so great and the resources so limited.

The World Mission Broadcast offering, the sole financial funding for this ministry, is typically taken in June of each year with the support of Nazarene Missions International. Our most recent financial update indicates a projected 20% reduction (over $100,000) of funding that will be available next year. That is a grave concern.

And yet, faithful Nazarenes have always responded to the need, and God has always provided. We believe He will provide the needed resources.

World Mission Broadcast is a worthy cause. Many people are not aware that 100% of all funds raised go directly to the support of this ministry around the globe.

As we look to the future, we are asking churches to include WMB funding as part of their faith promise commitment. We are asking Nazarenes to support this ministry through their estate planning. We are challenging our churches around the world to help support this vital ministry through their prayer and financial support.

Join us in praying for God’s wisdom as we seek to “make Christlike disciples in the nations.”

Blessings,
Dave Anderson
