Now is the "Time" in Burkina Faso

The land-locked West African country of Burkina Faso is becoming more vibrant and diversified with media due to changing technological infrastructures and reforms in the country. These changes, begun in 1991, have radically altered the country's media scene, which has long been dominated by the state. Now, the country boasts of scores of privately-owned newspapers, radio, and TV stations.

World Mission Broadcast (WMB) currently produces the successful French-speaking radio program Temps (Time). Temps can be heard every Monday and Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. on Radio LVD 94.4FM.

Pastor Prao Kouakou, WMB coordinator for the West Africa Field, is excited about the new opportunities being considered in Burkina Faso. “There is a project of language production (in the) Mòoré language,” says Prao. The Mòoré language is a tonal language spoken primarily in Burkina Faso by the more than 5 million Mossi people. “We continue to pray for this project,” says Prao.

With the most recent additions of the Chinyanja language in Zambia and the Fang language in Equatorial Guinea, World Mission Broadcast is positioning itself to launch many new languages through our My Media Generation Backpack Studio initiative.

Thank you for your continued support of spreading the Gospel through media around the world.
